Do We Listen to What We Say Anymore? Or Just Type Out "Big Ideas" and Forget About Feedback? Answer to a post without really thinking about what we are saying or what the repercussions may be? Or considering facts, experiences, details? This was posted on FB by a friend and below is my rant in response. Not usually too big on politics, definitely no longer a believer in our justice system, or healthcare or CPS for that matter. Having been a victim of all of the above and having been a big fan of being an American in prior years I have to yell out something when it is so obvious to me and my simple mind.

I have to keep yelling this one to everyone, Call me the devils advocate or the one who points out the "not so obvious". Yes this is great, however the sign is also up in regular doctors offices for non pregnant patients.
I have known people who now have to do regular drug screens to ensure they are taking one med. or the other. Or not taking one thing or another.
I have also been the unfortunate person who, on more than 1 occasion had false positives when providing a sample for screening.
Does anyone remember our rights to privacy? Do you remember it being your body and having control over it? Freedom of choice, freedom of speech, etc. etc. and a right to privacy. We are slowly all asking to have a number slapped on our heads and not have much control over anything. I am not one to go on about politics or religion but in the same sentence I am about to. What we should push for is that one nation under god we used to all be so proud of. I prefer not to be a nation under a thumb, especially under the current government.
Why not implore people to "self regulate". Not do drugs if you are pregnant. Not require CPS (don't get me started there). Before everything you do is being "watched" and regulated by humans who are just like you and I, and I can definitely say no better or no better qualified to "regulate" me than I am.
I can honestly say that I believed in "the system" for the better part of my life. Then I almost became a casualty of it and for whatever reason got to "walk a mile in the shoes" sort of speak and let me tell you one incorrect test, mixed up results, incompetence, failure by someone to do their job or bad equipment or test could and will ruin someones life.
We all for the most part already take drug tests to work, and submit our "private details" on job applications and background checks. When you go to the hospital you are always asked if you are afraid or endanger. Enough is enough. Let's get back to being free Americans who have a standard and keep each other in check. Believe me our government can barely handle what it has on it's plate.
I took a step away from this and came back to conclude--putting these signs up and even enforcing them I just realized is going to likely result in one thing---people who don't get prenatal care at all, more dead babies and moms or babies in dumpsters. Think about it. Just saying. <3
